東京の大規模な再開発にふと思う

東京に限らず最近の再開発は常軌を逸しているように感じることがあります。

建物の寿命は40年を待たずに解体され、昔からあった地形や、そこに根付いた生活ごと、大手デベロッパーが新しいビルを建てていく。都市の連続性などどこにもない、あるのは資本の効率性のみ。

お飾り的に、過去の記憶を残すとか称して、異物を免罪符的に埋め込んだり、形象を真似ることはしても、過去との繋がりは断たれている。

そこに元からあったものの歴史といえば、昭和とか戦後のからの浅い歴史さかないと考えれば、都市の新陳代謝の一部なのかもしれないとは思うものの。
